Elvilda C. Anderson was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota, on May 20, 1903, the daughter of August and Mathilda (Erickson) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the present Augustana Lutheran Church of Clarkfield with Rev. Emil Valborg conducting her confirmation rites. She attended the Clarkfield Public School and was graduated with the class of 1920. She went to Minneapolis where she was employed with Pure Oil over forty-two years. She was a past president of the "Desk and Derrick Society," an organization of the secretaries of oil companies in Minneapolis. After the death of her father, August Anderson, in 1934, her mother, Mathilda Erickson Anderson, moved to Minneapolis where she has since made her home with Elvilda and her sister, Lillian. Miss Anderson was a member of Central Lutheran Church of Minneapolis. She passed away Sunday, February 21, 1965, at St. Barnabas Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 61 years. Her aged 98 year-old mother survives her as do her two sisters: Lillian A. Anderson of Minneapolis, and Frances (Mrs. Henry M. Williams) of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers: A.W. Anderson of Clarkfield, and Oscar M. Anderson of Albany, California.
