Elsie Bohn, daughter of Herman and Louise (Theirfeld) Zietlow, was born at Springfield, Minnesota, July 23, 1897, where she was also baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. In 1914, the family moved to Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. On May 24, 1916, Elsie was united in marriage to Gottlieb Kelm. They had five children: Alfred Kelm of St. Paul, Violet (Mrs. Rudolph Cole) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Roy, Ralph and Melvin of Portland, Oregon. Gottlieb died at the age of 38 on February 6, 1930. On December 14, 1937, she married Otto Bohn. After ten years of marriage, Otto died on April 9, 1948. She moved to Clarkfield and began work at the Clarkfield Hospital in the housekeeping and dietary departments. After living in Clarkfield for several years, she went to Portland, Oregon, to spend some time with her sons who live there. She returned to Clarkfield and moved into the Valhalla Apartments. Due to failing health, she later moved to Granite Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, where she lived until her death on May 9, 1979, at the age of 81 years. In addition to her children, she is survived by 20 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Pieschke of Boyd, Minnesota, and Hulda Loose of Clarkfield; and one brother, Leonard Zietlow of Minneapolis. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Alma (Mrs. Peter Johnson), and four brothers: Erwin, Alfred, Herman and Albert. IN MEMORY OF ELSIE L.
