Elmer Heinrich Theodor Wiegers was born on August 26, 1907 in Omro Township to parents Heinrich and Olga (Rosenau) Wiegers. He was baptized on September 15, 1907 at St. John's of Omro by Rev. E.G. Fritz and confirmed on May 8, 1921 by Rev. R.H. Vollmers at St. John's of Omro. Elmer was married to Anna Emily Munsch on November 12, 1933 by Rev. Carl G. Schmidt at St. John's Lutheran Church of Wood Lake, MN. They were the parents of one son, David. Elmer was a farmer his entire life. He also served as an elder and church treasurer at St. John's. He also served on several community boards including St. Leo's Mutual Fire Insurance Board and was the Omro Township Treasurer for 45 years. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro. Elmer entered the Clarkfield Care Center on May 21, 1997. He passed away on Thursday, April 30, 1998 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 5 days. He is survived by his wife Anna, son David, both of Boyd, MN; brother-in-law Ervin Munsch (and wife Alice); two sisters-in-law: Sophie Steinkraus, and Evelyn Munsch. He is also survived by Harold Jaeck, who lived with the Wiegers family after the death of his mother. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Leo, as an infant, and Walter; sisters Dora and Hulda, and a Nephew Lyle Wiegers and niece Vivian Lindberg. Blessed be his memory.
