Obituary

Elmer Evold Olson was born July 27, 1888, to Solomon J. and Emma (Olson) Oleson. He spent his entire life in the Clarkfield and rural Minneota communities. His father passed away when Elmer was twelve years of age, leaving his mother with the responsibility of a family of four, so he and his older brother had to take over the farming operations. Farming has been his occupation until five years ago when he retired because of his health and that of his wife. He was married to Nina S. Christianson of Minneota on October 18, 1911. They lived on his father's farm until they built a home of their own in Swede Prairie Township of Yellow Medicine County. Mr. Olson was recovering from a severe stroke he suffered on July 1st of this year when a second one occurred on August 26th. He was admitted to the Granite Falls Hospital that same day and passed on Friday evening, August 28, 1964. He had reached the age of 76 years. Surviving with his wife are two daughters: Louise (Mrs. Marlowe Freeburg) of rural Walnut Grove, Minnesota, and Mildred of Minneapolis; a granddaughter, Muriel Freeburg and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Oleson; his twin sister, Mrs. Mary Knutson Peterson, and younger sister, Mrs. Nellie Knutson. IN MEMORY OF ELMER E.
