Obituary

Elmer Kelm was born March 15, 1917 in Tyro Township to parents William and Louise (Kammeyer) Kelm. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township by Pastor Bernhardt Luttman and confirmed in 1931 by Pastor Louis Rosin. Elmer grew up with his parents at their home six miles South of Boyd. His family included brothers: Bill, Arnold, and Albert and sisters Leona and Edna. He attended Country School District #29. Following the death of his parents, Elmer was cared for by his sister, Edna. He became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center in 1973. He. attended the DAC Center for several years and participated in the Care Center Olympics. Elmer was a 'natural' at playing the accordian. He would play for the residents and family and friends. One of his favorite hymns was "Silent Night". He also was an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins. Elmer passed away peacefully at the Care Center on Thursday evening, April 17, 1997 at the age of 80 years and 1 month and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Bill, Arnold, Albert, Leona, and Edna. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, friends, and staff and residents at the Clarkfield Care Center. Elmer will be greatly missed.
