Ellsworth Virgil Anderson was born in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, May 29, 1918, to Henry and Anna (Nelson) Anderson. He was baptized by Pastor Storaasli and confirmed by Pastor Anderson. December 16, 1942, Ellsworth was united in marriage to Inez Long. Three children were born to this union: Mally Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; Jane (Mrs. Charles) Bertsch of Bloomington, Minnesota; and Judy (Mrs. Tim) Moberg of Marshall, Minnesota. Ellsworth farmed all his life except three years 1947-1950 while he was in business in Clarkfield. He served on various boards in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, was a 4-H leader for several years, President of Libson Town Board and served as an ASCS Committee-man. Ellsworth passed away Wednesday, July 20, 1983, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, at the age of 65 years. Along with his wife and children, he leaves to mourn seven grandchildren, a sister Victoria (Mrs. DuWayne) Severson of Dawson, Minnesota, and a host of relatives and friends. Blessed be his memory.
