Ellen Sylvina Sandvig was born August 17, 1902, at Boyd, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Mary (Johnson) Skogen. She attended the Boyd School and later at Brooten, Minnesota, graduating from Brooten High School. On August 21, 1921, she married Elmer K. Sandvig. This union was blessed with one son, Elmo, who lives at home. She was 50 years and five months old at the time of her sudden death, Monday, January 12, 1953, due to the results of an automobile accident. Mrs. Sandvig is survived by her husband, Elmer; one son, Elmo; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Skogen of Montevideo, Minnesota; three brothers: John of Minneapolis, Norris and Melvin of Montevideo, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. James Halverson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ray Erickson of Montevideo.
