Ellen Johanna Lovsness was born March 22, 1900, at Stavanger, Norway, to John and Martha Marie (Ueland) Skarass. When she was three years old her parents moved to the United States. She has lived in the Cottonwood, Minnesota area all of her life. She was baptized in Stavanger and confirmed in the Silo Lutheran Church of Cottonwood. In 1924 Ellen was united in marriage to Louis Lovsness, and lived on the farm in Vallers Township, Lyon County, Minnesota. To this union two sons were born: Reed and Rollie. After the death of her husband Louie in 1948, she moved to Cottonwood and worked many years in the restaurant. Ellen died on September 23, 1980, at the Granite Falls Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie, and her son, Rollie. Surviving are one son, Reed; five granddaughters; five grandsons; four great grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
