Ella Hoff Rowberg was born on May 7, 1898 at Grand Meadow, Minnesota to Engebret and Bertha Hoff. She was baptized on June 26, 1898 at Bearcreek Church by Rev. Rondesvedt and confirmed on December 8, 1912 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church by Rev. Haugen. She taught school for many years in the Hanley Falls and Cottonwood areas. On February 25, 1925, she married Conrad Rowberg. They had two children: James of Granite Falls and Eileen of Clarkfield. She was active in church and enjoyed her quilting, needlepoint, tatting, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived on the farm until she and Conrad moved to Hanley Falls. She entered the Granite Falls Manor in 1991. Ella passed away on Saturday, July 22, 1995 at the Granite Falls Manor at the age of 97 years, 2 months, and 16 days. She is survived by son, James and wife Donna Rowberg of Granite Falls; daughter, Eileen and husband Merald Borg of Clarkfield; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Conrad; brothers, Martin and Jesse; and sister, Mabel. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
