Ella Caroline Flaget was born on March 5, 1879, in Rock Dell Township, Olmstead County, near Stewartville, Minnesota, the daughter of Ola and Bertha (Christianson) Quale. She was baptized at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church in the same township. At the age of one, she moved with her parents to Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was six years old when the family came to Clarkfield, Minnesota, where she was confirmed at the Clarkfield Norwegian Lutheran Church by Rev. Moen. On August 18, 1902, she was united in marriage to Edward Flaget of Stewartville, Minnesota. He preceded her in death in 1919. Mrs. Flaget spent a number of years in Clarkfield, at Nevis, Minnesota, and the last few years of her life at the Ebenezer Home for the Aged in Minneapolis. At the latter, she passed quietly on to her final reward on Monday, October 17, 1966, at the age of 87 years. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Albert, Nils, Martin and Elias. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
