Elizabeth Agda Olson was born June 2, 1887, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Bengt and Pernilla (Swenson) Olson, among the first settlers in the township. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed by Rev. B.F. Bengtson at Fridhem Church. She attended the rural school in Tyro and the parochial school. Elizabeth lived on the homestead caring for her parents, sisters and brothers until she was left alone. She then purchased a home in Clarkfield where she lived until 1967 when she entered the Clarkfield Nursing Home. She passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on December 3, 1968, after being a patient there for two weeks, due to bronchial pneumonia. She was 81 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers: Olaf, Henry and Ernest; two sisters: Emma and Christina Olson Persons. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Anna Rodness, Mrs. Reka Roedl, both of Clarkfield, and Selma (Mrs. Robert Devereaux) of Wadena, Minnesota; seven nieces and nephews. IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH A.
