Elizabeth Agnes Aakre was born August 1, 1898, to Bernt and Syneve (Eye) Aakre near Granite Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church at Hanley Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from high school and attended teachers normal training at Granite Falls. She taught school nine years, one year in Oregon and eight years in Hanley Falls, Lowe and Green Valley. Elizabeth married Edwin Larson of Boyd, Minnesota, on May 29, 1926. Of this union seven children were born: Edwin, Jr. and Shirley of Boyd, Mrs. Delores Nelson of Appleton, Minnesota, Mrs. John Wanke (Betty) and Mrs. Arlene Wanke both of Milan, Minnesota, Roy of Eagan, Minnesota and Roger of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Elmer and Bernard Aakre and Olga Flaten of Granite Falls, Hjalmer Aakre, Ruth Oswald and Jo Johnson all of Portland, Oregon and Harold Aakre of Bloomington, Minnesota; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
