Lurene Hawkinson Isaacs was born May 12, 1916, at Boyd, Minnesota, to Henry and Minnie (Mapes) Hawkinson, the eldest of four children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd. In December 1936 she was united in marriage to Ernest L. Issacs. To this union two sons were born, Earl and David. They lived in Clarkfield until 1952 when they moved to Minneapolis, where she resided until her death, December 16, 1977, at the age of 60. She had been employed at Skippy Peanut Butter Company since 1969. Survivors include a son, David, of Prospect Park Care Center, Minneapolis; a stepson Erode and wife Solvig of Toledo, Ohio; two grandsons: Tom and Greg; two great grandchildren; a brother Edwin Hawkinson of Watertown, South Dakota; two sisters: Mrs. Mable Hegre of Little Falls, and Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Ochendorf of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son Earl.
