Elda (Laechelt) Anderson October 18th, 1928 - October 20th, 2016 Elda Anderson, of Clarkfield died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 88. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Boyd, with Rev. Jeffrey Ross officiating. Burial will be at Fridhem Cemetery, rural Boyd. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday with a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Elda Anderson was born on October 18, 1928, in Omro Township to August and Bertha (Koepp) Laechelt. She grew up in the Boyd and Clarkfield areas and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1947. She married Harry Anderson on June 29, 1947, and they had two children. Elda helped with the farm and also worked in the Clarkfield Bakery and sold Tupperware in addition to raising the family. Harry and Elda moved into Clarkfield in 1985. Elda moved to the Valhalla Apartments in 2011 and then to the Clarkfield Care Center in 2014. Elda was an active member of Zion Lutheran church. She served on the LWML board as an officer and also taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was very active in volunteering for the Bloodmobile and at the Clarkfield Care Center calling Bingo. She enjoyed activities at the Clarkfield Senior Citizen program and was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Clarkfield. Elda enjoyed latch hook, embroidery, vegetable gardening and canning. She also loved cats and watching "Wheel of Fortune". Family remembers that she had lots of different favorite phrases she would say, one being "Ain't that just the berries" which now has been adopted by other family members. Elda is survived by her children: David (Carol) Anderson of Delano, MN and Janell (Danny) Sjurseth of Boyd, MN; grandchildren: James (Leighann) Knopp, Tara (Erik) Holmen, Eric Anderson, Dennis (Barbara) Springer, Jason (Kristin) Werner, Krystal Moline, Ryan (Amanda) Werner, Kari (fiancé Stephen Martin) Brown, Mathew (Justine) Sjurseth, Katelynn Sjurseth, Theodore (friend Alli) Sjurseth; great-grandchildren: Lucas, Jackson, Cameron, Katie, Summer, Vyolette, Seth, Alexis, Aubrynn, Rosali, Ashley and Rylee; and special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry in 1995 and brother, Wilford (Clara) Laechelt as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
