Edwin Franklin Severts was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota, on May 7, 1902, to parents Martin and Martha (Severson) Severts. He attended country school in Friendship Township. He was baptized by Rev. O. C. Farseth and later confirmed by Rev. O.T. Storaasli in 1918. Edwin was a lifetime member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. In 1942 Edwin entered the Armed Services and was stationed at Camp White, Oregon, in the 91st Pine Tree Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post #169, Clarkfield, Minnesota Edwin farmed all his life and lived on the family farm in Friendship Township. On Thursday, September 27, 1990, Edwin passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 88. Preceding Edwin in death were his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Newland; and two sisters, Stella and Martha Severts. Edwin is survived by many cousins. Blessed be his memory.
