Edwin Andreas Olson, the son of Aanon and Emma (Samson) Olson was born June 1, 1897, at Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized by Rev. J.S. Strand on July 26, 1897, and confirmed by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard in July of 1912. On October 1, 1921, he was united in marriage to Christine Midboe of Cottonwood, Minnesota, by Rev. J.O. Wrolstad at the Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, Minnesota. To this union were born five daughters and three sons: Helen, Maxine, Donna, Verna, Lillian, Earl, Robert and Richard. He resided in Hanley Falls all his life and was engaged in the occupation of carpentry and electrical work. He served his country during the First World War; he served his village as treasurer and his church as financial secretary. Mr. Olson entered the Veterans Hospital at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, several months ago for treatment and was later transferred to the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis, where on the afternoon of October 9, 1964, he passed from this life at the age of 67 years. His parents and four brothers: Olander, Bert, Alvin and Henry preceded him in death. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Christine, of Hanley Falls; his daughters: Mrs. Curtis Wilson of Hazel Run, Mrs. Harvey Reishus of Willmar, Minnesota, Mrs. Leroy Schmidt of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Mrs. John Olson of Minneapolis, and Miss Lillian Olson of Hanley Falls; his sons: Earl of Willmar, Minnesota, Richard of Hanley Falls, and Dr. Robert Olson of Atwater, Minnesota; his brother, Clarence Olson of Hanley Falls; his sister, Mrs. Anna Evenson of Willmar, Minnesota; and 21 grandchildren.
