Edwin Bengtson of the Hazel Run community was born November 13, 1911, in Sweden, the son of Elof and Emma (Mortenson) Bengtson. He came to America in 1923 with the John Bengtson family. He made his home in Hazel Run Township, with his uncle John until the death of his aunt. He passed away April 20, 1955, at the home of his cousin, Mrs. John Vold of the Hazel Run community. He served during World War II and had recently returned from Texas where he spent the winter.
