Edward M. Fyksen was born to Amund and Karen Fyksen on March 30, 1902, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized into the christian faith at the St. Lucas Lutheran Church where he was also confirmed on May 21, 1916, by Rev. M. Romstad. He attended classes in rural Normania Township Schools and later married Hilda Brusven on July 19, 1922. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Edward spent many years as a Maintainance Supervisor on the University of Minnesota campus. While in Minneapolis they were members of Central Lutheran Church. Edward passed away at the Bryn-Mawr Nursing Home, Friday afternoon, February 26, 1982, at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife, Hilda; one son, Charles; three grandsons, Bruce, Blaine and Todd; six great grandchildren; one sister, Caroline of Minneapolis; one brother, Alfred of Blue Earth, Minnesota.
