Edward Duane Christiansen was born July 22, 1944, at Spencer, Iowa, the son of LeRoy and Lorrena (Fry) Christiansen. He was baptized at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Albert City Iowa, by Rev. Carl Wenger. The family moved from Webb, Iowa, to Olivia, Minnesota, where they lived for five years. While there they joined the Zion Lutheran Church. During that time Edward attended Sunday School. After moving to the Hazel Run community, Edward joined the Hazel Run Evangelical Lutheran Church together with his parents in 1955. Edward was fatally injured in a fall at his home, May 16, 1956, at the age of 11 years. Edward was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Fry. His passing is mourned by his parents, one sister, Irene; three grandparents: Mrs. Bessy Fry and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Christiansen, several aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends.
