Edmund R. Rupp was born March 9, 1900, in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, the son of John A. and Amelia (Bergthold) Rupp. Edmund was united in marriage to Martha Gertrude Olson on October 12, 1923, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They had three children: Mrs. Patricia Jensen, Mrs. Jean Talke and James Rupp. He and his wife lived in Westbrook, Minnesota, until the fall of 1958 when they moved to Clarkfield and joined the Augustana Lutheran Church. They took over Dinger's Motel which they operated until recently. Mr. Rupp passed away March 4, 1963, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 62 years. He had been a patient there since February 3, 1963. He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Robert Jensen) and Jean (Mrs. Myron Takle), and son, James and wife Diane; seven grandchildren; and sister, Frieda (Mrs. Victor Nelson).
