Eddie Fred Galow was born March 1, 1900, in Omro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on the same farm on which he lived his entire life and was operating at the time of his death. It was the home of his parents, Herman and Margaret (Wiegers) Galow. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Lutheran Church where he remained a member all his life. He served as an elder for several years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Boyd Farmers Elevator and Mercantile Company for a number of years. On June 4, 1931, he was united in marriage to Clara Loose at the Zion Lutheran Church of Tyro Township. Two children were born to this union, Darlene (Mrs. Harold Weiss, Jr.) of Echo, Minnesota, and Dorraine (Mrs. Wesley Thompson) of Montevideo, Minnesota. Five grandchildren survive; four brothers: Adolph and Leo of Condo, North Dakota, Walter of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Hugo of Clarkfield, Minnesota; and one sister, Lena Piipke of Clarkfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. Ed passed away on November 16, 1972, at the St. Paul Ramsey Hospital at the age of 72 years. He had been hospitalized three weeks, following a burning accident. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one grandson.
