Obituary

Earl William Lindquist (August 5, 1934 ~ December 15, 2010) Earl William Lindquist was born on August 5, 1934, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to parents Oscar and Bertha (Margaret) Lindquist. He was a brother to three siblings: Leona, Shirley and Janice. Earl joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served aboard the aircraft carrier escort, USS Fechteler, as part of Task Force 77 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the service in 1955. Beulah Stokke and Earl Lindquist were married on February 4, 1956, at the Clarkfield Assembly of God Church. They were the parents of sons: Bradley, Scott and Bruce and daughter, Julie. Earl began his plastering career with Norman Wold Plastering in 1955, and he later partnered with Duane Summerfelt to form L&S Plastering, culminating over fifty years of very hard work. As a result, many commercial and public buildings, homes, and churches across southwestern Minnesota will bear the mark of Earl's craft for decades to come. Earl's early hunting days gave way to fishing and Sunday picnics at Watson Sag with the family. Over the years, Earl and Beulah also enjoyed collecting carnival and opalescent glass with their friends. Trips through the Minnesota countryside often included stops at antique shops where Earl's perseverance was often rewarded. Earl treasured the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and often provided them words of encouragement and tidbits of wisdom. Earl passed away at the Chippewa County Hospital in Montevideo, Minnesota, on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 10 days. He is survived by his children: Bradley (and Andrea) of Louisville, Colorado, Julie (and Steve) Londgren of Clarkfield, Scott (and Sherrie) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Bruce (and Terri) of Victoria, Minnesota. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sisters: Leona Stefferud of Reading, Minnesota, Shirley (and Frand) O'Neil of Worthington, Minnesota, and Janice Nelson of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He is also survived by brother-in-law Duane (and Donna) Stokke of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and sister-in-law Sharon (and Gene) Brunner of Clarkfield; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, and parents, Oscar and Bertha (Margaret) Lindquist. In Loving Memory of Earl W.
