Earl Raymond Dotseth, the son of Oscar and Susie (Oraas) Dotseth, was born November 26, 1906, at Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized at Spring Creek Lutheran Church, of Normania Township, by Rev. Salhus on December 28, 1906, and confirmed his faith at the same congregation in 1921 before Rev. Storaasli. Raymond Dotseth became acquainted with Gladys Isaacs of Hazel Run and on January 22, 1929, were uinited in marriage by Rev. Haugeland at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. To this union God added his blessings of a son, Erling, and three daughters, Shirley, Jean and Junice. Earl Raymond Dotseth had spent his life on the farm east of Clarkfield until 1943 when he relocated his family at his present farm southwest of Clarkfield. He had been in good health until the past year, and in the early morning hours of November 11, 1963, suffered a heart attack and passed from this life at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar N. Dotseth, and a grandson, Michael Dean Alness. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Clarkfield; a son, Erling of Clarkfield, and by three daughters: Mrs. Marlow Alness of Minneapolis, Miss Jean Dotseth of Worthington and Miss Junice Dotseth of Clarkfield. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Oscar Dotseth, Sr., of Clarkfield, and by three brothers: Nuel, Owen and Oscar of Clarkfield; and by five sisters: Mrs. Murl Isaacs of Hazel Run, Mrs. Larry Lamkin of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Esther Nordmeyer of Marshall, Minnesota, Mrs. Carol Taylor of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Clifford Remmen of Minneapolis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
