Duane Milo Jacobson passed away on Easter Sunday, April 15, 1990, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 56 years 7 months and 26 days. Duane was born August 20, 1933, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to his parents, Milfred and Esther Jacobson. He was baptized by Rev. A. Haugland on September 10, 1933, and confirmed by Rev. A. N. Olson on May 23, 1948, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church of Hazel Run, Minnesota. Duane attended First grade in Granite Falls, Minnesota, grade school in Hazel Run and high school in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Arlyss Ann Larson on March 20, 1954, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Stony Run Township by Rev. A. N. Olson. To this union two sons were born, Michael and Bradley. Duane farmed near Hazel Run all his life. He was very involved in community and church activities. He loved to sing and was a member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church Choir for many years and he also sang with the Male Chorus. He has been Sunday School Superintendent, Luther League Counselor, Clarkfield and Hazel Run School Board member, Consumer's Coop Board member and Yellow Medicine County Extension committee member. Duane is survived by his wife, Arlyss; parents, Milfred and Esther Jacobson of Hazel Run; his two sons, Michael and wife Marcia of Bonney Lake, Washington, and Bradley and wife Barbara of Hazel Run; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Miranda, Brett and Barry.
