Dorothy M. (Yackley) Fry was born March 18, 1934, at Canby, Minnesota, to parents Harold R. and Gladys M. (Halstenson) Yackley. She was baptized at the First English Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Canby. Dorothy attended Country School District #48, graduated from Canby High School and attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dorothy and Raymond W. Fry were married on June 9, 1956, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Canby. They owned and operated the Fry Lumber and Construction Company in Clarkfield and Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Raymond and Dorothy were the parents of five children: Karen, Laurie, Steve, Sandy, and Greg. Dorothy worked at various jobs. She was the bookkeeper at Fry Lumber and Construction and also had various other jobs before her most recent as a Home Health Aide for the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota, until 1997. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, television, gardening, and sewing. Dorothy passed away on Saturday morning, January 15, 2000, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 29 days. She is survived by her family, Karen (and Dale) Bladow and their child: Paige of Hankinson, North Dakota; Laurie (and Doug) Gregoire and their children: Dominick, Jacob, Daryl, and Rebecca of Cottonwood, Minnesota; Steve (and Jill) Fry and their children: Stevie, Joey, Brandon, and Stephanie of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; Sandy (and Billy) Sharkey and their children Tanya and Carl of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; and Greg (and Barb) Fry and their children: Michael VanOverbeke, Anthony, and Travis Fry of Hanley Falls. She is also survived by brothers: Hal Yackley of Portland, Oregon and Roger Yackley of St. Paul, Minnesota; and sisters: Darlene McClay of Reno, Nevada, Gloria Kleve of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ruth Risch of Portland, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1990, and her parents. Blessed be her memory. May she rest in peace.
