Obituary

Dorothy Louise Weber June 25, 1919 ~ December 24, 2014 Dorothy Louise Weber passed away Wednesday morning, December 24th, 2014, at the Hospital in Granite Falls at the age of 95. Dorothy was born on June 25, 1919, to her parents William and Janette (Wenz) Weber. She was confirmed at Swedlanda Church in Hector, Minnesota. She moved to Minneapolis and worked for many years as a caregiver. As an accomplished musician, Dorothy also taught music lessons. Just a few of the instruments she played included the piano, organ, accordion, ukulele, guitar and the mandolin. Around the age of 50, Dorothy moved to Granite Falls to live near her youngest brother and his children. A few years ago, she moved from her home to the Granite Falls Manor. Dorothy loved to entertain people with her many musical gifts, especially piano playing and singing. It didn't matter if she was alone with you in her room, with a group of people, or riding in a car; she loved to break into song. Dorothy enjoyed, "fancy work" such as crocheting and embroidering. After completing her pieces, her real joy came from giving them away. Dorothy was a generous woman who had little but loved to give to everyone. She also liked to fish and spend time at her brother's family cabin that she lovingly called "Robert's Cottage". She will always be remembered with a welcoming laugh, her love for all the kids in the family, a flower in her hair, and a smile on her face. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Janette Weber; her brothers: Russell Weber, Ray Weber; her sister, Alice Weber; and great nephew, Clint McCoss. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Robert (Sandra) Weber of Granite Falls; her nephews: Hollis (Vera) Weber of Hazel Run, Todd (Diane) Weber of Watson, Kyle (Pam) Weber of Granite Falls; and nieces: Tanya (Tim) Yerigan of Granite Falls, and Roberta (Tim) Alcorn of Granite Falls. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and many great, great nieces and nephews. In Loving Memory of Dorothy L.
