Dorothy M. Pearson was born on February 27, 1928, at Canby, Minnesota, to parents Alvin and Rose (Moravetz) Juranek. She was baptized on April 28, 1948, at the First English Lutheran Church in Canby and later confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Canby. She attended Marble School in Lincoln County. Dorothy married Merle Pearson on September 26, 1964, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Merle and Dorothy farmed in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where she enjoyed her flower gardens and helping with farm work. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of Swede Home Lutheran Church, Swede Prairie Township. Dorothy became a resident of Senior Haven Nursing Home in Canby, March 30, 2005. While there she enjoyed playing Bingo very much. She passed away at Senior Haven on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 13 days. She is survived by her husband, Merle; and two sisters: Marge Bauer of Mounds View, Minnesota, and Phyllis Juranek of Slayton, Minnesota; and niece Sandra (and Al) Wood of Hillsboro, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald. Blessed be her memory.
