Doris Lorraine Johnke was born on the family farm of her parents, Ingval and Amanda (Sander) Iverson on November 14, 1933, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was one of a family of 13 children. Her brothers and sisters include Halvor, Eldor, Lloyd, Bernard and Roy Iverson, Irene (Mrs. Lloyd Busiahn), Alice (Mrs. Lester Raddatz), Charlotte (Mrs. Ingval Brovold), June (Mrs. Miller Knutson), Eunice (Mrs. Reed Just), Lella (Mrs. Karroll Huchins) and Shirley (Mrs. Paul Nyheim). Mrs. Johnke was a member of the 1953 graduating class from Echo High School. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Dennis Johnke of Wood Lake, Minnesota. The family has resided in Clarkfield, Minnesota, where Mr. Johnke has been employed with Clarkfield Motors, Inc. since 1955. Mrs. Johnke passed away Monday, October 2, 1967, at her Clarkfield home, at the age of 33 years. She had been in failing health for some time. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1957. Left to mourn her early departure are her husband, Dennis; six children: Dorothy, Mary Ann, Barbara, Larry, Joyce, and Valerie; her father, Ingval Iverson; and her twelve brothers and sisters.
