Donna Jean Sjolseth was born on June 4, 1925, in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, the son of Leo J. and Dorothy (Bergman) Molstad. She was bapitzed in the church in Walnut Grove and attended elementary school there. Later she moved to Cottonwood with her family. She was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in June of 1940 and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1943. Donna was married to Lyle Sjolseth on April 23, 1948. Four children were born to this union. The family lived in Marshall and Minneota and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Donna worked in various stores there. She enjoyed working with many different crafts. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and visiing with friends. Lysle died in 1981. Donna moved back to Cottonwood in the 1980s to help her mother. She continued living in West Prairie Apartments after her mother died. She passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years. Donna is survived by her children: Scott (Debbie) Sjolseth, Jody (Mike) Savage, Gary Sjolseth and Bruce Sjolseth all of Phoenix, Arizona; and seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Robert (Verdina) Molstad of Cottonwood and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
