Obituary

Donna Mae Bruflat, daughter of Lloyd and Alta (Halvorson) Beito, was born on November 26, 1932, at her Grandpa Ole Beito's farm in rural Granite Falls, Minnesota. She lived there for about eight years and then moved to the Volstead farm and then to Longview farm. Donna was the oldest child in her family, her siblings not starting to arrive until she was eight years old, so she was a "Little Mother" to all of them. She was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church. She attended Asbury Country School from 1937-1945 and then attended Granite Falls High School. She married William D. Bruflat on April 9, 1950. They lived in Granite Falls until 1957 when they moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota, and started Bruflat Plumbing and Heating. Four children were born to this union: Rodney, Jill, Timothy, and Joel. Donna was a partner with Bill in the business and handled the phone and the bookkeeping. Donna loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially at their cabin on Lake Ida. She was involved in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, bowling league, Legion Auxiliary, YMC Heart Association, her Bunco group, and the yearly rituals of canning vegetables (which was a real family affair, sometimes involving four generations). She enjoyed working at the shop and spending time with friends for coffee at the 'round table' at the local restaurant and could be found there most days at 10:00 and 3:00 like clockwork. Donna will be missed. Donna entered the Clarkfield Care Center in November of 2001 and died at the Granite Falls Hospital on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at the age of 69 years, 1 month, and 23 days after a long struggle with diabetes and cancer. She is survived by her sons: Rod and his wife Barb, children, Todd and Kelly, Tim and his wife Deb, children,Troy, Heidi, and Chad, Joe and his wife Lisa, children, Amber, Taylor, and Mackenzie all of Clarkfield. Also surviving are sister LouAnne (and Wayne) Kling; four brothers: Ronnie (and Deanne) Beito, Gary Beito, Paul Beito, and David Beito and friend Becky; one sister-in-law Berdonna Winson; three double cousins: Delores Veden, Roger Beito, and Jimmy Beito; three aunts; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jill, husband Bill, and sister-in-law Judy Beito.
