Donald James Voss was born on February 9, 1931, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Ewald and Hertha (Just) Voss. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Louis Rosin. After he completed high school, he farmed with his father. He served two years with the National Guard when it was activated during the Korean War. After his return he again farmed in Omro Township. On August 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to Agnes Anderson, at Big Bend Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born. Together they farmed and raised their children until Donald's sudden death. Donald passed away August 23, 1979, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota, at the age of 48 years. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, and children: Steven, Heidi, Jeffrey, Mary, Karen and Naomi, of rural Canby, Minnesota; his parents, Ewald and Hertha Voss; brothers: Dennis of Litchfield, Minnesota, David of Mason City, Iowa; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
