Donald Cecil Sudlow was born on August 4, 1919, near Tracy, Minnesota to George and Mabelle (Manguson) Sudlow. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Milroy, Minnesota. Don graduated from Tracy High School and thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941. He was in the 3rd Infantry Division in the area of communications. He received the Distinguished Unit Citation Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Croix De Guerre Bronze Service Medal and the Purple Heart. After his term in the service, he worked for Bjerke Electric for two years. He then farmed for himself north of Milroy. He married Gertrude Louise (Habben) Larson on August 16, 1958, at Opdahl Lutheran Church in Florence, Minnesota. Don farmed until 1969 when they moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where he worked 15 years for Thermo-King. Gert and Don retired to Clarkfield, Minnesota. Don was a member of the Clarkfield J. Ben Johnson American Legion Post 169, Lions Club, and Augustana Lutheran Church. Don passed away on Sunday, July 7, 1991, at the Granite Falls Hospital Emergency Room, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Don is survived by his wife Gert of Clarkfield, Minnesota; son, James and wife, Colleen, and child, Patrick of San Jose, California; son, Warren of Kansas City, Kansas; five step-children, step-son, David Larson and wife, Kathy, and children Bryan and Amy of Faribault, Minnesota; step-son, Richard Larson and wife, Sandy, and children, Tristel, Brandon, and Garrett of Mantica, California, step-son, Robert Larson and wife, Nancy and children, Wendi and Jeni and grandson, Nickolis, of St. James, Minnesota; step-daughter, Arlene (Larson) Marchard and husband, Jim, and children, Kari and Katie of Fargo, North Dakota; and step-son, Dale Larson of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Preceding Don in death were his parents and one sister Fern.
