Donald "Pork" Duane Schmitz, Jr. was born on May 3, 1980, to Donald Sr. and Susan (Kiehn) Schmitz in the parking lot of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, MN. A person can say he came into the world fast and has never slowed down. Donald liked to do any auto mechanical work; it didn't matter if it was a small job or a big one, he was good at them all. Donald liked to ride motorcycle and let the wind blow through his hair. Fishing was another hobby he enjoyed when time allowed. He was always there to help when needed. Family meant a lot to Donald; he loved his three daughters and talked about them often and was proud of them.

Donald passed away on Thursday, August 11th, 2022 at his home in Boyd at the age of 42. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Sr.; brother, Mike; his maternal and paternal grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Brooklynn, Valkyrie, and Hadley; mother, Susan; sisters, Missy (Daryl) Hermanson and Amanda (Craig) Clark; brothers, Tim (Carin) and Troy Schmitz; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and special friend, Rene Dollahan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 at 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, followed by the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
