Donald B. Quesnell was born to Wallace and Lida Kelly Quesnell on July 3, 1911, at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was born on the farm in Tyro Township where he resided the rest of his life. Farming was his occupation from his teenage years until his retirement in 1977. He continued to enjoy helping with various farming activities until his health prevented him from doing so. Don was baptized in the Methodist Church. He attended rural school in Friendship Township and after consolidation attended school in Clarkfield. On September 23, 1939, he was united in marriage to Comfort Harriet Haaland, daughter of Elmer and Sarah Haaland at Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Rev. J.E.H. Akre. Two children were born to this union, Donald Bruce and Sharon Lutricia. Don became a member of Clarkfield Lutheran Church through adult confirmation on April 29, 1951. He served his church as a member of the Board of Trustees and was involved in various community projects. His motto "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you" showed through many acts of kindness towards others. He will be remembered by his family as a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. Don died August 5, 1991, from cancer at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 80 years and 1 month. He is survived by his wife, Comfort; son, Bruce and daughter-in-law Gwen; daughter, Sharon and son-in-law Chuck Saxer; three grandsons, Steven Saxer, Grant & David Quesnell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur, Walter and Ira; and four sisters, Maude Schave, Lu Webster, Clemence Sisson and Janette Stanfield. Blessed be his memory.
