Donald L. Mauland was born May 6, 1931, to parents Reynold and Gurina (Gunderson) Mauland. He was baptized and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. He was raised in the Clarkfield Community and spent most of his life there, except for six years of military service, most of them in France and Germany and active reserve for two years. He has been employed at Clarkfield Farm Service and Farmers Elevator for the past 18 years. He married Betty Schueller August 20, 1976. He has been disabled since May 1981 and died at the Veterans Hospital at Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 13, 1982, of a cerebral hemorage. He was active in the American Legion, the Forty and Eight, International War Veterans Alliance and Sons of Norway. Survivors are his wife Betty of Clarkfield; son and daughter in law, Richard and Lucille Schueller of Marshall, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Jay and Jerry John Schueller of Marshall and Victoria Giese of Mason City, Iowa; one sister Mrs. Melbourne (Arlene) Fjerkenstad of Boyd, Minnesota; and one brother Arvid of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents. DONALD L.
