Donald Herbert Friberg was born February 14, 1948, in Clarkfield, Minnesota to parents, Herbert and Hazel (Sabe) Friberg. He was baptized in 1948 and confirmed in 1963 both at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. He attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School. Don was a member of Clarkfield Boy Scouts and achieved the organizations highest rank, Eagle Scout. Don attended Alexandria Area Vo-Tech School and South West State University in Marshall, Minnesota. At the time of his death, he was enrolled in pre-medicine studies at Portland State University and at Mount Hood Community College at Portland, Oregon. He was also involved in the wholesale food industry for several years in Oregon and Montana. Don enjoyed the outdoors and was active in mountain climbing, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, golf and was an expert skier. In April of 1990, Don underwent surgery for cancer. He passed away after a short illness with cancer at the home of his brother and sister-in-law in Beaver Creek, Oregon, on Friday, October 19, 1990 at the age of 42. Don is survived by his brother, David and sister-in-law Sandy of Beaver Creek, Oregon; Nieces, Julie Foland of Elgin, Oregon, Jodi, Angie and Sara Friberg all of Beaver Creek; Nephews, Jeremy of Beaver Creek and Jeff of Mayport, Florida; Uncles and Aunts as well as many cousins and friends. Preceding Don in Death were his father, Herbert in 1964; his mother, Hazel in 1969; and his grandparents, Theodore and Jenny Friberg and Heine and Susie Sabe.
