Obituary

Donald Elmer Feist was born May 5, 1931 at Clarkfield, Minnesota to parents Elmer J. and Bessie (Grobel) Feist. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church of Boyd and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church of Stony Run Township. He attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School. He served in the United States Air Force from December of 1950 to December of 1954 reaching the rank of Staff Sgt. Donnie was especially proud of his six daughters: Cyndi, Tamara, Jacqualine, Terri, Trudy, and Tina. He was a lifetime resident of the Clarkfield area. He worked for AMPI for many years in maintenance. Donald married Darlene Rasmussen on August 27, 1982 at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. They made their home in Clarkfield. He loved his family and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed fishing with his daughters and hunting with family. He was a story teller. He especially enjoyed telling the grandchildren stories about their family and friends. He was a master barbecue chef. He had a special interest in airplanes, handy man projects and later became a Minnesota Twin's fan. He was a member of the Clarkfield American Legion Post # 169. Donald passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at his home at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 20 days. He is survived by his children: Cyndi Feist of Des Moines, IA, Tamara (and Greg) Hinz Maumelle, AR and their son Matthew (finace Hailey McChristian); Jacqualine (Duane) Hegna of Stafford, VA and their sons: Nathan (Carly) Hegna and Chad Hegna; Terri (Gary) Wolf of Pequot Lakes, MN and their children: Tarah (Lubos) Taragel, Beth Wolf and Brandt Wolf; Trudy (Donnie) Altman of Loves Park, IL and their children: Amy, Andrew and Aaron Altman; and Tina (Steve Jacobs) Woods of Urbandale, IA and son Luke Woods. He is also survived by step-children: Cynthia (Richard) Berg, Diane (Daniel) Grant, Douglas (Janine) Rasmussen and Susan (Daniel) Larson, brother Roger (Bonnie) Feist and sisters Patricia Dotseth, Susan (John) Christensen and Kathryn (Jess) Eliason and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Darlene, grandson Jon Hegna, nephew David Dotseth, grandson Cameron Grant and granddaughter Sheena Grant.
