Dennis Allen Clausen was born on July 7, 1944, at Dawson, Minnesota, the son of Chester and Edith (Nelson) Clausen. He was baptized November 10, 1944, by Pastor A.E. Gerdes in Dawson and confirmed on May 10, 1959, by Pastor Stanely G. West in Boyd, Minnesota. Dennis graduated from Boyd High School in 1962, and served in the Armed Services from 1963 until 1966, spending two years in Germany. Following his discharge, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he worked for seven years as a Beverage Distributor, and where he also met Kathleen Clark. Dennis and Kathleeen were married on August 12, 1972, by Pastor Dean Fodness at Israel Lutheran Church, Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Dennis worked as a masonary contractor, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper, and served in the National Guard Reserve from 1975 - 1976. He lost his life in an automobile accident on April 12, 1980. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kitty, his daughter Kimberly, and two boys, Bradley and Danny, all of rural Clarkfield; his father, Chester Clausen of Boyd; a sister, Gloria Piipke of rural Clarkfied; and two brothers, Lonny Clausen and Michael Clausen, both of Dawson.
