Obituary

Denis Norbert Snyder was born June 3, 1939, near Minneota, Minnesota, to parents Leonard and Mayme (Kloos) Snyder. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church. He attended school in St. Leo and Canby. Denis and Alice Fae Hanson were married at St. Peters Catholic Church in Canby, Minnesota, on December 30, 1961. They were the parents of two sons: Brad and Kevin. Denis was a boiler engineer at AMPI of Dawson, Minnesota, a job he had for 45 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Montevideo, Minnesota. He enjoyed country music. Johnny Cash was his favorite performer. He also enjoyed playing card games with his family and friends. He was one of those rare men who loved to shop and talking on the phone with family and friends. He enjoyed going to (and watching on TV) the Minnesota Twins and football. He had two favorite TV shows: "The Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune". The best for him was watching his grandson, William, in school plays, wrestling (he was a state champion at age four), baseball and football. Denis and Alice enjoyed traveling in the U.S. For the last several years, they spent time at their resort home in Pahrump, Nevada, where they met many wonderful friends. Denis passed away early Sunday morning, November 4, 2007, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years and 5 months. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Clarkfield, Minnesota; and his sons: Brad of Marshall, Minnesota, and Kevin (and Vicki) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and grandson William Robert. He is also survived by brothers: Marvin (and Char) Snyder of Pahrump, Nevada, Ronald Snyder of St. Leo, Minnesota, and sister Gloria DeCramer of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and many other close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; triplet siblings: Lucille, Leonard and Louise; brother Donald; father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Deloris Hanson; and brother-in-law Richard Hanson. Blessed be his memory.
