DeLoris Mayoan Feist was born May 9, 1921, the daughter of William Fiest and Tillie (Lee) Feist. She was baptized in May 1921 and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. A.H. Haugland on June 5, 1938. At the age of eleven, this young child was stricken with infantile paralysis. She attended school at Clarkfield and graduated with the class of 1941. She was employed at the telephone office in Hazel Run for sixteen years and also faithfully gathered the news of the community for the Advocate. DeLoris was always cheerful and willing to help others whenever possible. Her health began to fail several years ago but with her strong determination was able to carry on her duties until she entered the hospital on February 20 and passed into eternity on February 22, 1959, at the age of 37 years, nine months and 13 days. She was a member of Hazel Run Lutheran Church. She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents; four sisters: Lucille, at home, Gretchen (Mrs. Oscar Dotseth, Jr.) of Clarkfield, Gloria (Mrs. Leo Olson) of Clarkfield, Darlene of Echo, Minnesota; three brothers: William, Jr. and Gerald at home, James with the armed forces at New Hall, California; two brothers-in-law; three nieces, two nephews; two foster nephews, one grandmother, besides many other relatives and friends. Loving and kind in all her ways, upright and just to the end of her days. Sincere and true, in heart and mind, beautiful memories she left behind. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF DeLoris M.
