Delores Ruth Olson was born May 30, 1917, to parents, Thomas and Florence (Kimble) Dagel in Sanborn, Iowa. Ruth married Raymond Olson on November 5, 1937 in Watertown, South Dakota. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Clarkfield. Ruth always enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She began her cake business in 1950. She was also very active in circles at her church. In November of 1993 she became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center. Ruth Olson passed away on Monday November 29, 1993 at the Clarkfield Care Center, at the age of 76. She is survived by daughter, Dawn Swenson (husband Peter) of Blaine, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Pam (husband Steve) DeMarais, Tom Madison, and Michael Madison; and two great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Josh DeMarais; sister: Thelma Brovold; sisters-in-law: Rose Johnson, Cora Davidson, and Judith Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; her parents: Thomas and Florence Dagel; and two sisters: Opal Tanhoff and Evelyn Dagel.
