David Berdel Tongen was born June 3, 1954. He was number 4 of 8 children born to Omar and Hazel (Johnson) Tongen of Hazel Run, MN. David was baptized and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. He attended Hazel Run grade school for grades 1-6, then Clarkfield High School for grades 7-12 before graduating in 1972.

David worked a variety of jobs during his life. He and his friend Russ renovated houses in the Twin Cities and he was a photographer for weddings, graduations, babies, and parties. He was a great bartender and also worked for Tongen Construction as a Central Office Technician. David loved his family very much and he lived with his parents before moving to Clarkfield. He will be remembered by all for not only his own laugh, but how he made others laugh when he was with them.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the age of 67, David joined his parents and many loved ones in heaven. He is survived by many family and friends who loved and will miss him. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10 AM at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church, followed by the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
