Darwin D. VanStelten (February 28, 1924 ~ July 18, 2011) Darwin "Van" was born February 28, 1924, at Arco, Minnesota, to parents Emma (Westphal) and Harry VanStelten. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. Darwin married Ruth Krog on March 28, 1944, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. They were parents of two daughters Carol and Twyla. Van was a mechanic all his life, beginning at age 14. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping family vacations. Van passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2006, brother Ronnie and sister Ronial. He is survived by his daughters: Carol (Bill) Hagedorn of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Twyla (Mike) Kanten of Milan, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Angi (Doug) Sadrack, Tami (Joe) Beach, Mandi (Nate) Wright, Mindy (Mike) Sauvageau, Mace Kanten and Nissa Kanten; and six great grandchildren: Taylor, Cailey, Kenzie and Brydin Sauvageau, Caleb Beach and John Sadrack.
