Daniel Johan Korstad, 95, died at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, March 13, 1988. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 1988, from the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota, with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. Organist was Minnie Hermanson and congregational hymns were sung. Casket Bearers were Daniel's grandchildren. Final Resting Place is the Ten Mile Lake Cemetery of Ten Mile Lake Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. Daniel was born at Albertha, Minnesota, on October 25, 1892, to his parents Andrew and Bertha (Maursetter) Korstad. He was baptized in Albertha and confirmed in Boyd at the Trinity Lutheran Church. On December 28, 1915, he married Selma (Haakenson) Korstad. Daniel was a life long farmer in the Boyd area and was also a County Commissioner of Lac qui Parle County for over twenty years. Daniel was active as a member of the school board, township assessor and various farm organizations. He attended rural schools in Tyro Township (Yellow Medicine County) and Ten Mile Lake Township. Daniel is survived by one son, Hilman and his wife Linda of Boyd; one daughter, Blanche Benson of Boyd; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
