Dale E. McCoy was born in Terril, Iowa, on January 21, 1928, to Orph and Era (Lown) McCoy. He was baptized in the Methodist faith. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1946. On August 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Shirley Fultz in Montevideo, Minnesota. He farmed and did woodworking in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota. Dale passed away suddenly at his home in rural Clarkfield on Tuesday, September 14, 1982, at the age of 54. Survivors include his wife Shirley, children: Karen Thompson of Pipestone, Minnesota, Mrs. Dennis (Gwen) Kvistad of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Mrs. Bruce (Nadine) Albertson of Clarkfield, Mrs. Gordie (Candace) Albertson of Clarkfield, Mrs. Wayne (Angela) Viessman of Clarkfield, and Greg and Jason at home; ten grandchildren; his father Orph McCoy; sisters: Marie Cushman of Watson, Minnesota, Lucille Rose of Spencer, Iowa, Colleen Olson of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Judy VanDorp of Fargo, North Dakota; brothers: Leland and Duane of Clarkfield and Delbert of Storm Lake, Iowa; mother-in-law, Jessie Fultz and many relatives.
