Dale Lester Fremo was born on April 1, 1945, in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, to parents Gordon and Irene (Driefke) Fremo. He grew up in and near Valley, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in a small country church called 'Skogdalen' which is in Timbercoulee, Wisconsin. Dale graduated from Hillsboro High School. He spent four years in the Navy during the Viet Nam War and spent much time in Viet Nam. Following his discharge, he followed his mother west. He lived in California, Kansas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1990 he returned to Minnesota to live near relatives. Dale married Anne Ninneman Longhenry in 1997. They resided at Boyd, Minnesota, until September 1999 when they moved to Nassau, Minnesota, where he worked for the Nassau Farmers Elevator. Dale passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2000, at the age of 55 years, 5 months, and 13 days. He is survived by his wife, Anne, and four stepsons: Gerald (and Dotty) Longhenry of Hartford, South Dakota, James (and Keri) Longhenry of Volga, South Dakota, Jon (and Jennifer) Longhenry of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and Jay (and Louisa) Longhenry of Clarkfield, Minnesota; stepdaughter, Joan Longhenry of Shakopee, Minnesota; mother-in-law, Lillian Ninneman; seven step-grandchildren; two aunts and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepfather, Norman Olstad. Dale was a quiet man. He loved the grandchildren. He loved music and often could be found playing his harmonica. He played many musical instruments and had much talent. Dale wrote poetry, he loved woodworking, he loved heights and worked on many elevator systems. Dale loved his dogs and loved his wife and to the two of them an evening drive and enjoying nature and its beauty was all that was needed. Dale will be missed by his wife, his family, his co-workers, and his friends.
