Obituary

Curtis Gustav Leppke (November 30, 1927~September 24, 2011) Curtis Gustav Leppke was born November 30, 1927, in Maxwell Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to Fred H. and Alma (Bohn) Leppke. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in December of 1927, by Pastor R. P. Young and confirmed on June 1, 1941, by Pastor A.W. Fuerstenau. Curtis grew up in the area where he was born. He attended St. John's Parochial, Rural District 44 and Clarkfield Public School. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Omro Township. Curtis and Gladys Drake were united in marriage on November 23, 1969. He farmed his entire life until he retired and remained on the farm until his illness hospitalized him. He loved to hunt, fish, trap, grow potatoes and work with wood. In the past few years he mowed lawn, cared for Gladys and would go on rides with Daisy, his dog. Curtis passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, Minnesota, at the age of 83 years and 10 months, due to a short battle with cancer. Curtis is survived by his son, Randy. He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife Gladys on June 21, 2011; brothers: Wilfred, Ervin, an infant brother, and his twin brother Kermit; aunts, uncles and cousins. Blessed be his memory.
