Cora Wilson was born in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on July 3, 1884. Her parents, Oliver C. Wilson and Carrie (Jurgenson) Wilson, had twelve children, all of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong member of Bergen Lutheran Church. She was baptized by Pastor Ole Lokensgaard in 1884 and confirmed by Pastor H.O. Fjeldstad in 1898. After attending grade school in District 14 in Stony Run Township, she spent one term at the Willmar Seminary. In 1906 she graduated from the School of Agriculture of the University of Minnesota. She taught school in District 26 in Lisbon Township for one term. In 1909 she married Gerhard Wilson. They have five daughters: Ina (Mrs. Olaf Risa) and Shirley Allchin of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Avis (Mrs. Lyle Monson) and Elsie (Mrs. Herman Halvorson) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Beverly (Mrs. John Thompson) of Mahtomedi, Minnesota. In addition to her surviving husband and daughters, she leaves thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson had been in poor health for the past 15 years, but early in June of this year when visiting in Mahtomedi, she became critically ill and entered St. John's Hospital in St. Paul. She improved sufficiently to be moved to the Granite Falls Hospital where she spent several more days. She returned to the farm but was forced to return to the Granite Falls Hospital on Friday, July 15, where she died on Monday, July 18, 1966, at the age of 82 years. IN MEMORY OF MRS. GERHARD A.
