Conrad Arnt Cornelius was born on August 21, 1898, on his farm in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Peder and Maren ( Opsahl) Cornelius. On Tuesday evening, September 24, 1968, he was taken suddenly ill and rushed to the Montevideo Hospital where he passed quietly away on Wednesday morning, September 25, 1968, at the age of 70 years. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Bergen Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Amanda Grinager of Clarkfield on November 18, 1920. To this union were born six children. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Amanda, four sons: Clinton and Donald of Minneapolis, Gaylen and Allen of Clarkfield; two daughters: Darleen (Mrs. Rueben Sather) of Sisseton, South Dakota, and Shirley (Mrs. Stan Lynne) of Ortonville; 15 grandchildren; two sisters: Nicoline (Mrs. Andrew Olien) of Clarkfield and Minnie (Mrs. Clarence Thompson) of Milan; three brothers: John of Clarkfield, Oscar of Rosholt, South Dakota, Elmer of New Effington, South Dakota; and one step- brother, Leonard of Bell, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maren and Peder Cornelius; one grandson, Lynn Cornelius; two sisters: Carolyn (Mrs. Trelstad), Tillie (Mrs. Henry Jacobson); one step-brother, Peter; three step-sisters: Ingabori (Mrs. Thron Melbostad), Carrie (Mrs. Anton Opsahl) and Anna (Mrs. Hans Halverson). Conrad lived a busy active life taking care of his farm where he was born and lived all his life. He served as a trustee at Bergen Lutheran Church, as a school board member, and for many years he served on the Consumers Co-op Oil Company board. IN MEMORY OF CONRAD A.
