Coleen Mae Olson September 6th, 1934 - October 14, 2016 Coleen Olson of Wood Lake, Minnesota, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at her home at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Interment will be at the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, MN, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to service at the church. Coleen Mae (McCoy) Olson was born September 6, 1934, to Orph and Era (Larson) McCoy near Terrill, Iowa. In 1941 the family moved to the Clarkfield area. Coleen was baptized in the Methodist Church and later was confirmed at Yellow Medicine Church in Hanley Falls. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1952 and then graduated from Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis in 1953. On October 10, 1953, Coleen married Roger Olson at the Methodist Church in Clarkfield. They were blessed with two children, Gary and Cynthia. Coleen was a homemaker as well as helping with the farm work. They farmed for many years and retired in 1999. Coleen was active in her church teaching Sunday School and serving as an officer in WELCA. Coleen with the other members of the church made over 100 mission quilts. Coleen was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Hanley Falls and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed crafts, reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, and playing cards with friends. She is survived by her husband, Roger; grandchildren: Becky (Brian) Ruhl, Christi (Jim) Stueve, Chad (Liz) Olson, and Chantel Olson; seven great-grandchildren: Samantha, Hannah, Reed, Brynn, Logan, Addison, and Christopher; sisters: Lucille (Frank) Rose of Spencer, IA and Judy (Andy) VanDanvorpe of Fargo, ND; as well as other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Olson and daughter, Cynthia Zwack. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
